FIOD & Fraud
Our tax lawyers can help you if you are dealing with the FIOD.
Unexpected contact
You can be ambushed by the FIOD in the event of a raid or a search. Our clients have often never been in contact with justice before. So they are almost never prepared. That is why help from a lawyer can be urgent.
Interrogation
Whether you are being interviewed by the FIOD as a witness or suspect, it is not unwise to check what your rights and obligations are. As a suspect, you can choose to 1) invoke the right to remain silent or 2) declare. As a witness, you also have a choice. This choice often has to be made under time pressure.
Fraud analysis
After the raid/search or interrogation has taken place, there will be a phase where the FIOD's research findings must be studied. It is important that your position is mapped out in order to arrive at a process strategy. The FIOD file can be extensive. Our lawyers like to sink their teeth into complex cases involving, for example, the mapping of financial flows, invoice movements or taxation.
